La Salle is dependent on the generosity of the public for its operation.

Until 1993, the Grey Nuns underwrote all of La Salle's operating budget. Since then, the Board of Directors has been responsible for developing a fundraising initiative that increasingly supports the program.

To meet the increasing financial need, La Salle engages in corporate fundraising, solicitation of grants, private donations and bequests, special events and telefundraising.

Resident rents account for only 10% of the costs of running La Salle. Just to avoid deficits, the other 90%, or approximately $400,000 a year, must come to La Salle as a result of the generosity of caring donors.

As costs continue to rise, and as our (older) building needs upgrading, it is ever more critical that generous and understanding corporate and private donors help us continue to provide support.
